The 2020 full general election is well underway, and the deadline to register to vote in it in New York is this Fri, October 9.

New Yorkers tin can bank check their registration status by using this online tool or, if they live in the city, calling the city Board of Elections at 1-866-868-3692.

To register, or to update a registration with a new address, New Yorkers can print out voter registration forms, make full them out, and ship them to their local Lath of Elections role — there'southward 1 in each borough. The absentee election itself must be postmarked by Election Solar day and received by the Lath of Elections by November x in order to count.

Voters concerned that their ballot may not go far in time to be counted or butterfingers for other reasons that have at times undermined absentee balloting may choose to vote in-person, even if they already sent a election past mail — the Board of Elections will make sure nobody's vote counts twice, and an in-person vote e'er supersedes a mailed vote.
